The Project GLAD^® Foundations Training is available to anyone in the education profession. There are two specialized trainings based on your professional goals: 

• Early Childhood Foundations Training
• K-12 Foundations Training

Each training consists of a Research & Theory Workshop and a 4-Day Classroom Demonstration.

RESEARCH & THEORY WORKSHOP

Participants connect and learn with other professionals in the field about research that supports the model and its development, planning support, an introduction to Project GLAD^® units, and exposure to various effective teaching strategies.  It is a 1-day workshop for the Early Childhood training and a 2-day workshop for the K-12 training. 

4-DAY CLASSROOM DEMONSTRATION 

Participants observe Project GLAD® strategies in action within a classroom setting alongside a Project GLAD® Agency Trainer. A second Agency Trainer provides coaching to deepen participants’ understanding of the strategies and their variations while facilitating meaningful conversations and reflection around the model.

During the afternoons, participants begin planning and preparing materials to use in their classroom right away to effectively support application and implementation.  Follow-up support is also an integral part of this process. Seeing successful strategies with the students is the most effective method of promoting change.
