The OCDE Project GLAD® Foundations Training is available to anyone in the education profession.
This training consists of a 2-Day Research & Theory Workshop and a 4-or 5-Day Classroom Demonstration.
2-DAY RESEARCH & THEORY WORKSHOP
Participants dialogue and learn with other professionals in the field about research that supports the model and its development, planning support, an introduction to OCDE Project GLAD® units, and exposure to approximately thirty effective teaching strategies.
4- OR 5-DAY CLASSROOM DEMONSTRATION
Participants observe students in a classroom setting, utilizing the strategies with a Project GLAD® trainer. Another OCDE Project GLAD® trainer is coaching participants on a deeper understanding of the strategies, and their variations while engaging in meaningful conversations around the model.
During the afternoons, participants begin planning and preparing materials to use in their classroom right away to effectively support application and implementation. Follow-up support is also an integral part of this process. Seeing successful strategies with the students is the most effective method of promoting change.
