The Atmosphere and Weather
This 6th grade GLAD unit immerses students in the study of weather and climate as interconnected systems influenced by geography, air masses, and the movement of water in the atmosphere. Through integrated literacy strategies, hands-on activities, and expert group research, students investigate atmospheric layers, weather patterns, and severe weather across U.S. regions while building language and academic skills.
