Description
Natural Resources: Salmon and the Boldt Decision
This unit explores renewable and non-renewable natural resources in the Pacific Northwest, such as salmon, and how indigenous tribes of the Pacific Northwest have worked to protect them. Based on the Washington state Since Time Immemorial lessons, this unit is centered around the 4th grade topic of Salmon and the Boldt Decision, which describes the effort local tribes have put forth to restore their treaty rights to fish and hunt on usual and accustomed lands.
